Updating your User Profile

Keeping your user profile up to date ensures accurate communication, proper access to system features, and a personalised experience. This section guides you through updating your profile information, which includes:


Personal Information: Update your name and email address (if allowed) to ensure your contact details are current.

Profile Picture: Upload a photo for easy identification by colleagues and system users.

Preferences: Customise language, time zone, and notification settings to match your working environment and communication needs.

Email signature: Either text or image based signature


Use the step-by-step instructions below to make your updates quickly and easily.

  • After logging in, click your user icon (top right)
  • From the dropdown menu, click "My Profile" or "Preferences".
The option for My Profile or Preferences will depend if you have the HR Module installed. 



You will be redirected to "Your Profile".  Here you can update your name and email address.

  • Name
  • Email (if allowed)
  • Hover over the Avatar image on the right, click the "pencil icon", and upload your profile picture.
If you choose not to upload an image, the system will default to the First Letter of your name in a colour block. 


Now navigate to the Preferences tab:


  • Language: This will be preset by the system administrator according to your company rules. 
  • Timezone preferences: Click the dropdown arrow to select your timezone.
  • Use the Radio buttons to choose your notification preference. 
Notes: If you choose "Handle in Odoo", you will not receive any email notifications for tasks/activities.  You will only receive In-App Notifications (top right).  See screenshot below.


  • Email signature: You can choose text or an image for your email signature.
  • To insert an image, type /image and you will be directed to upload your company branded email signature.


  • When you’re done, remember to click Save to apply your changes.
Notes: Some fields (like email or permissions) might be restricted by the system administrator. If you need to update something you can’t edit, contact your Odoo admin.
